Getting Closure Can Help You Live More Abundantly!

You need to get closure from your past hurts and baggage that you may have from past relationships. sometimes we can hold how we were mistreated or lead to believe a lie or worse from those past relationships for years. I am very happily married right now and I can gladly say that I have no regrets or heart strings attached to any of my past relationships. I don’t say this to brag, but it is something I am proud of. The reason is that I don’t have to bring my hurts, pain and junk from my past relationships into my marriage. One of the things that helps me have this confidence is that I received closure from my past relationships and this helps me live more abundantly in my marriage today. You can also get closure from your past relationships and that will help you live more abundantly!

If you don’t get closure at the end of a relationship it can niggle away at you for years. The end of a relationship is a big deal, but there are lots of smaller unfinished deals that can also be niggling away. As you walk through your home what do you notice? Perhaps the picture that still needs to be hung on the wall, the laundry pile that needs to be folded, the tax return that still needs to be completed?

Things left undone on the ‘to do’ list in our mind take up mental and emotional energy that could be put to better use living abundantly! Just think about it the other way round – when you complete something, you feel good. When you finish a study assignment, read the last page of the book, or tuck the kids into bed at night after a long day of running around after them, the sense of accomplishment builds your self-esteem. Getting around to the things we’ve been putting off, is one way to release a whole heap of energy that you can use to live abundantly.

Forgiveness Is Key to Gaining Closure

One key to gaining closure in relationships, is to forgive. Carrying around past hurts and resentments drains us of present-day energy to enjoy abundance in life. Like being stuck in quicksand the more we wallow in bitterness, the more it consumes us. Nelson Mandela, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize says. “Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies”. Forgiveness is a gift to yourself.

To forgive, first you need to acknowledge that you are still angry. Next, be honest about the pain you felt. Admit to the fears and self-doubts that this caused you. Own up to any part that you played in letting the person mistreat you. Admit to yourself what you wanted from that person that you didn’t get. Try to put yourself in their shoes for a moment and understand why they didn’t or couldn’t give that to you. Finally after admitting these feelings, let go and forgive. It will bring closure and release a whole lot of energy for abundant life today.

The Man Who Burns Bridges Crosses Streams

There is a saying you often hear, “Don’t go around burning bridges”. This is a phrase created for our safety. So if something bad should happen, we can just go back and retreat across the bridges into safety.

This is good and all for a mediocre life. However if you want to live an amazing, abundant-inspiring life, you’re going to have to hold a torch now and again.

After all, when the Greek arrives on the Trojan shore in the Iliad, they burned their boats behind them. It sent a message to every troop there. That the only way they were going to leave this place was either through death or victory. Do you imagine which one they wanted more?

Though this example is extreme, it is important to recognize that sometimes bridges are crutches. They will only allow you to go so far into uncharted territory before you scurry back inwards.

You can burn your bridges mentally by making the decision that you will never give up. That you will never give in, nor heed to the dream-stealers that attempt to tear at your goals.

A person I know decided he would be an entrepreneur that traveled the world with only computer in hand to build his business. You know what he did? He quit his job, bought a one-way ticket, a good backpack and shoes and began his journey.

He burned all the bridges.

It was either time to make it or get crushed. And because burning these bridges, for the first time he is making money outside of a job that is supporting himself. And soon that income will grow even further to support his dreams of traveling the world forever.

By burning his bridges, it realigned with his mind that this is the only way out. The only way to get to happiness and security is by going forward.

When you have this mentality, you become almost unstoppable. Because now your mind is looking for opportunities, any at all, that it can clutch to reach your goals. It is frantically searching for a method to make things work because there is no other option left.

It is indeed a very powerful psychological condition. For anyone seeking to truly transform themselves, this is the only psychological condition you should be in. As it is the only one powerful enough to revolutionize your entire mind, body and soul.

How to Have Abundance in Life

Employment Enjoyment: The Simple Key to Abundance in Life

A man of some influence, Malcolm S. Forbes once said, “The biggest mistake people make in life is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy.” You know what, he’s right. If you are looking to enjoy a life of abundance, start with the things you must do, like work. The reality is that it is the fundamental choices about our lives that have that biggest impact on our overall well-being. The feeling of waking up knowing that you will be doing a task that you prefer is one simple key that could make all the difference. Find abundance in your everyday life, like your work, and it will never be far from you mind.

Sounding out My Abundance

The lifestyle of abundance starts by recognizing that we all have abundance in our lives. Can you see it? When you do (and you will!) remember to sound it out. Verbally announce your abundance and its reality will become even more apparent. Acknowledge that there is joy in your life. Revel in the little sweetnesses that your life offers and you will find that you are swimming in the lap of abundance. It is almost like sounding out your happiness multiplies it for you and those around you. Say it with me, “I will sound out my abundance!”

Where is My Abundance?

I get asked “Where is my abundance?” by people all the time. It can be hard to see when there is hardship standing in the way, but trust me – your abundance in life is there, waiting for you. Almost anyone can find abundance in their life. The things we take joy in and the things that make us rise to the occasion may not feel abundant, but they are the doorways to abundance. Take my old friend Susan as an example. Last year her father died and it was not easy for her. I encouraged her to focus on the abundant things in her life and we began making a list.

After writing down a few activities we started to really get to the heart of what fulfills her. After realizing she had abundance in her husband and friends as well as her work, it was not so hard to put her father’s passing into perspective. He had been sick for several months and, at 84, it was taking its toll. Later on, I remember Susan remarking how after the funeral, a sense of peace seemed to hang over her and her family. Even in the passing of a loved one, there is abundance, can you see it?

Tap into the Fountain of Abundance in Your Life

Life is always going to throw curve balls at you. That isn’t going to change. Thankfully, you have a shield to much of the strife… Your abundance! The fulfillment your life brings you at the best of times is the rock that holds you through the worst. Recognize your abundance in life in the times of distress. This is the foundation of abundance you should strive for.

We all have hardships, but that doesn’t mean the hardship has to have us. Embrace the abundance in your life and free yourself from the shackles that stress and struggling cause. My hope is for readers this week to be encouraged. If you would like to be coached around this topic or any number of other topics don’t hesitate to contact me.
